The Flexible Woodwind Section is the most versatile collection
for woodwind quintet available today.

A minimum of 5 players are needed but you may add as many players as you wish because
many of the parts are interchangeable!


This entire collection may be performed with a minimum of 5 players:

1. Flute
2. Oboe
3. Clarinet in Bb
4. Horn in F
5. Bassoon

Additional substitution parts included are:

Clarinet (Oboe substitute)
Alto Saxophone (Horn substitute)
Bass Clarinet (Bassoon substitute)


If an oboe is not available, use the Clarinet (Oboe substitute) part or substitute a flute.

If a french horn is not available, use the Alto Saxophone part.

If a bassoon is not available, use the Bass Clarinet part.

A trombone or euphonium may also play the Bassoon part.


Each piece has been carefully orchestrated to provide hours of enjoyment for woodwind players
of all ages.

The middle school woodwind quintet will benefit by this collection because of the flexibility of the instrumentation.
For example, if the oboe is weak, an extra clarinet may be added by using the Clarinet (Oboe substitute) part.

The high school woodwind quintet will love the interesting selection of music.

The college level woodwind quintet will find the orchestrations beautifully executed.

The professional woodwind quintet will find these pieces extremely useful for quintet related services.
